Chinese steel grade names follow a logical pattern:
- Q: Yield strength (Qu fu dian in Chinese pinyin)
- 235 / 355: Minimum yield strength in MPa (N/mm²)
- B: Quality grade indicating impact test temperature (B = +20°C, C = 0°C, D = -20°C, E = -40°C)
